Radio Sonora FM is the result of the "Farroupilha Community Communication Association", formed on January 2, 2008 by the initiative of its director, Jorge Gilberto Lazzari.
The Association's proposal was to install in Farroupilha the first Community Radio of the municipality.

The main objective of Radio Sonora FM is the dissemination of culture, information and events that move the community where it operates.
The broadcaster program schedule reserves spaces for the different cultural manifestations of the people, varied musical genres, journalism program, news summaries and community and educational programs.
